The New York Daily News: “The first woman in the U.S. to receive silicone breast implants is now 80 years old and a great-grandmother. Timmie Jean Lindsey said she is proud of her role in advancing medical science in 1962. One of her grand-daughters had breast reconstruction after a double mastectomy.”
Although implants and technique have markedly improved, here is a patient that is happy with her results and implants that are intact… after 50 years. With better implants and techniques, as well as manufactures lifetime warranty, patients today should have a great deal of confidence in breast implants. We suggest that those considering this surgery must be highly selective in the choice of a surgeon.
