A recent article in a Florida newspaper demonstrates the national problem of “plastic surgery wannabes” – those who are partially or are basically untrained in cosmetic surgery. The ‘wannabes’ operate in unaccredited office facilities. This certainly does not describe surgeons credentialed by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons and does not describe those cosmetic surgery professionals who have privileges to do the procedures in a hospital.
To avoid this issue, patients considering cosmetic surgery should do their homework: check into the credentials and hospital privileges of the surgeon and the accreditation of the facility! Yes, once again the buyer must beware.
At North Dallas Plastic Surgery, Drs. Harlan and Todd Pollock are each board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and are members in good standing in the American Society of Plastic Surgery.
