An brow lift is also known as a forehead lift. The position of the eyebrows are important as they frame the eyes; they really affect the appearance of the entire face. With aging, gravity causes the forehead skin to lengthen and the eyebrows tend to descend, causing the thick skin beneath the brows to cover the eyelids. Surgical elevation of the eyebrows results in the brows themselves being aesthetically shaped with the excess skin of the upper lids reduced. This often minimizes the need to directly remove the eyelid skin. An over-correction of the brow lift can result in a “deer in the headlights“ appearance.
At North Dallas Plastic Surgery, we originated the Progressive Tension Suture (PTS) technique. When used during an eyebrow lift we find this allows the surgeon to accurately shape and securely fix the brows, eliminate frown lines, and minimize forehead wrinkles. For our Dallas and Allen area patients, this PTS method is a very effective approach to sagging brows – with a high rate of satisfaction and minimal complications.
This technique has provided a more consistent, natural and long-lasting result.
