Traditional liposuction relates to the minimally invasive treatment of vacuuming excess fat. The goal of liposuction is to reshape specific areas of localized fat. Liposuction alone is most effective for more minor “figure faults” or altering the shape of localized fat deposits. While it is a minimally invasive cosmetic surgery procedure, it still is a real surgical procedure and so it has all the potential risks of any surgery.
But did you know that now a variety of devices have been introduced, used and many discarded? Some of the terms you may have heard are Power-Assisted Liposuction; Safe-Lipo; Ultrasonic Liposuction; and Aqualipo, Aqua Lipo, Water Lipo, or Water Assisted Liposuction. You and Dr. Todd A.
